Directions for Curbing Menace of Ragging
| Instructions for All Students: |
|
| 1. |
Every student shall submit an affidavit mandatory in English or Hindi (Annexure-I) at the time of registration duly signed by him/her to the effect that he/she is aware of the prohibition of ragging and the punishments prescribed. |
| 2. |
Every student shall also submit an affidavit mandatory in English or Hindi (Annexure-II) to be filled and signed by his/her parents/guardian to the effect he/she is aware of prohibition of ragging and the punishments prescribed. |
| 3. |
A Student seeking admission to a hostel forming part of the college or seeking to reside in any temporary premises not forming part of the college, including a private commercially managed lodge or hostel shall have to submit additional affidavits countersigned by his/her parents/guardians in the form prescribed in Annexure-I and Annexure-II. |

| Instructions for Fresher Students: |
|
| 1. |
All the fresh students (freshers) have their rights as bonafide students of the college, therefore, they should desist from doing any thing, with or against their will even if ordered by the senior students, and that any attempt of ragging shall be promptly reported to the Anti Ragging Squad or to the wardens, faculty members, officers or the Director of the college. Names and contact numbers of all important officials are given in Appendix 'A'. The identity of such informants shall be kept secret and shall not be subject to any adverse consequences only for the reason for having reported such incidents. |
| 2. |
Parents/guardians of fresh students shall bear responsibility to promptly bring an instance of ragging to the notice of the Director of the college. |

| Lodging Of F.I.R: |
|
On receipt of the recommendation of the Anti-Ragging Squad or receipt of any information concerning any reported incident of ragging, the Director of the college shall immediately determine if a case under the penal laws is made out and if so, either on his own or through a member of the Proctorial Board authorized by him on his behalf , proceed to file a F.I.R. within twenty four hours of the receipt of such information or recommendation, with the police and local authorities under the appropriate penal provisions relating to one or more of the following namely: |

Abetment to ragging; |
| 2. |
Criminal conspiracy to rag; |
| 3. |
Unlawful assembly and rioting while ragging; |
